The legacy of colonialism

There are the sentences that you have to include in the chart:


a.       Europeans drew new borders in the territory
b.      Europeans cut down forests and turned large untouched natural spaces into agricultural areas.
c.       Colonizers built ports, roads, railways, telephone lines, etc. to exploit the colonies
d.      Europeans built new cities
e.      Europeans changed the economic, political and social structures in Africa without considering peoples’ tribal, linguistic and religious differences.
f.        Epidemics decreased because of the creation of hospitals, the introduction of vaccines and better hygiene.
g.       The population increased because the death rate dropped.
h.      Malnutrition increased because population grew but resources didn’t.
i.         Traditional crops were replaced by large plantations that benefited the metropole.
j.        Indigenous families were forced to work in the plantations.
k.       The production of traditional crafts ended.
l.         Industrial products at low prices and in large quantities were imported from the metropole.
m.    Indigenous peoples lost their traditions, beliefs and ways of life as Europeans imposed theirs.
n.      Missionaries spread Christianity.
